 We welcomed a visitor today, hello Ella!  She is considering coming back next month as well.

There was a lot of talk about the quilt show and more to come.  We have confirmed tables for the 3D display.  Sandie has volunteered to do intake at the show and Jeanette will be there for the pick up at the end.  A sign up sheet went around with a lot of slots signed for.  It will be available next month as well.  

 We are asked to bring our scrolls to the August meeting so we can decide how to hang them.  Don't forget that they do need a label on the back.  

Shirley has made a vase to display spirals at the entrance to our area.  She needs some more flowers, leaves and butterflies to decorate it.  She is also looking for more spirals, if you are interested in making one talk to Shirley W.  

We can have a personal artist statement with our Trailblazing Women quilts so if you hadn't written one on your entry form you can get it to Jeanette by the August meeting and she will have it printed for you.

We were told that the Fibre Art Network (FAN) has a half price membership offer on from July 1 to September 30.  That makes the cost for a new member only $30 for the first year.  

There is a call for entry out for the Grand National 2026 - Textures of Canada, Comtemporary Fibre Artists Explore Canadian Identity.

Our July meeting will be gelli plate printing.  Sandie will be sending out an email with a recipe for making your own gelli plate and some suggestions on what to bring along.  There is an article in the Summer 2025 issue of Quilting Arts, Gel Printing in Layers.  Sandie suggests looking into it in advance so you have an idea of what we will be doing.

We had 4 Trailblazing Women presented and all were interesting and inspiring.  There will be information on them up on the blog in the next day or so.

We had a lot of the quilts for the Trailblazing Women at the meeting but only 3 were complete.  The rest were in various stages of completion so I haven't put pictures up yet.  Sorry Christine.                       They are all looking good and so very different!

Show and Tell  

Cathy brought in a finished cyanotype from a class she took in Vernon and her collage piece.  She also showed us a pop up book bought for her granddaughter, a whole doll house!

Jan had her collage piece from last month.

Endy showed us her silk fusion and two collage pieces.

Jeanette turned her inset circle into a lovely finished piece and had done another covered rock as a gift for a friend.

Brigitte also had silk fusion and her collage.

Sandie has turned her collage into a book.

Bev had treasures from her trip to India and her collage as well as a small painting from a recent class.

Cath played with the dendritic printing that Janet Scruggs talked about.  She also finished a small card holder from her silk fusion and a sketchbook cover from another piece of silk fusion.  She made a sketchbook cover from a piece of fabric that had been airbrushed with ink using a stencil.
