February 2022

Wow, a very busy meeting in February.  Christine has sent an email with all the information in it so I won't repeat it all here.

The fall Quilt Show planning is under way and we will have a cubicle for our display.  Something to note; is there is no size limit for our pieces  A Page From My Book.

It seems the tea bags are making their way back to us to be repurposed into greeting cards for sale at and to benefit Gallery Vertigo.

The Reflections display will be up at Gallery Vertigo in March and we are thinking of bringing a lunch to the meeting and then going over after to see the display.  Please let Christine know if this will work for you.

Shirley showed us the technique for the Vases quilt and the instructions are in the email.

Christine demonstrated the Braided Curves by Maria Shell.

Jeanette created her own button and has sent along instructions for that as well.

We are considering using one of the tea bag panels to display them at the Quilt Show.

Show and Tell

Cathy has been making paper origami butterflies from a kit and is planning on turning them into a mobile for her granddaughter.

Betty has been having a great time making buttons.

Sandie played with last month's demo's and also made some buttons.

Shirley had two examples of her improv work, a bicycle with a large multicoloured circle for the wheel and a vase quilt that she demonstrated later in the meeting.

Elisabeth had attended a monoprinting and screen printing course and brought some examples and explained the process.  She also has her own version of Hopscotch.

Christine  brought along her winter scene and a quilt using many of the techniques in Quilters Playtime.
