September meeting

Welcome back!

Nice to see you all again and to welcome a new member, Diane.  We also had two guests drop in.

We started with our usual introductions and a story from Betty for Joltz.  Ask her where her shoes are next time you see her.

Show and Tell was interesting and varied.

There are links to a few sites for the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, England that Jeanette went to.  She also visited the Heavy Metal Museum.  And they had a quilter featured!

Linda has been natural dyeing wool for a kitting project.  Lovely results.

Liz has been playing with gelli plate printing and had a pile of gift tags to show us.

Liz also brought her finished tea bag piece to share.  Her theme is Family.  It is lovely.

Elisabeth showed us a new book and colour tool.  These could come in very handy for Tonny's analogous leaf challenge.  Are you working on yours?  It's due at the October meeting.

Although she was not in attendance, Cathy sent along her finished piece to Tonny's analogous challenge.  Cathy titled it Lemon Drops.

We had a huge box of pears given to us to share.  Don't they look wonderful with Cathy's work?  And they were very tasty too!!!

The Tea Bag Triptych will be finished in time for the Quilt Show.  Right now it is the hands of Linda and Brigitte.  Don't miss out seeing it hanging at the show.

REMEMBER the VSSQ Quilt Show is Friday and Saturday, September 27 & 28, 2019.
